The New Year´s Concert in HDTV quality
A "Best Of" of the Vienna Philharmonic´s concert at Haus der Musik
35 minutes of visual and audio experience in another dimension. From mid-February, the HDTV (High Definition Television) version of the New Year´s Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Georges Prêtre, can be seen at Haus der Musik. With a special accretion by way of an homage to Herbert von Karajan, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year.
"It is a difference of a hundred to one", rejoiced the Vienna Philharmonic-CEO Dr. Clemens Hellsberg and Simon K. Posch, CEO of Haus der Musik, who put together this shortened version of the Vienna Philharmonic´s concert (35 minutes) himself.
The ORF recording can be seen every hour on the hour at Haus der Musik (Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic), in a concert hall specially conceived for it, and it goes without saying that one can also purchase the original DVD in the museum shop at a price of EUR 24,-.
Simon K. Posch and Dr. Clemens Hellsberg have a few plans ready for the Philharmonic Museum in 2008: new objects and showpieces, a completely new presentation of the antecedent certificates, musical scores and documents, improved guided tours.
