The DVD of the New Year's Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic - with discounted prices for MemberCard holders - is available from the Haus der Musik shop. A must-have for all music lovers!
The year 2008 starts off with the popular Marko Simsa concerts for children and with "Narish" in the Live on Stage concert series. In preparation for February is an "artistic opera vernissage" by Johannes Deutsch, which presents a further facet of the variety at Haus der Musik.
Following the pleasing increase in visitor numbers in the Mozart Year 2006, we were able to repeat the success in 2007 and welcomed another 200.000 visitors in the past year.

In total the programme included 21 pieces by Johann Strauss son, Johann Strauss senior, Joseph Strauss, Joseph Hellmesberger jr. and Joseph Lanner. The highlight of the concert was without a doubt the "Emperor Waltz". |
 | Johannes Deutsch - Seeing With Your Ears, Listening With Your Eyes The WDR Symphony Orchestra and Johannes Deutsch stage Gustav Mahler's "Resurrection" symphony on a multi medial basis.
The Vision of Mahler - a staging from the year 2006 now comes to Haus der Musik. From 4 February until 30 April, 2008, sketches, drafts, models and the Making of- DVD of the production by Johannes Deutsch will be presented in the exhibition room at Haus der Musik. Admission is free of charge! |
 | Music for the Classroom In collaboration with schools in Austria, Haus der Musik has established itself as a source for new learning and teaching material for students and teachers.
An information and exercise book for schools with the heading: "MUSIC BY PLAYING - voyage of discovery through HAUS DER MUSIK for the classroom" was written under the educational direction of Professor Hubert Gruber-Rust. This offer is complemented and extended with an audio CD. |
