Francis International Airport, Broken Family Band and Marko Simsa

The "Long Night of Museums" on 4 October 2008, featuring an unsurpassable programme of music at Haus der Musik, is definitely one for your diary!

More than half a million visitors throughout Austria with Haus der Musik as one of its key attractions. Such was the success of last year's "Long Night of Music", initiated by Austrian national broadcaster ORF. This year's event can be expected to be every bit as popular, with even more locations and special attractions at the Sound Museum in the heart of Vienna's city centre.

Children's event with Marko Simsa and Safer Six A Capella "Wickie und die singenden Männer" (Wickie and the Singing Men).
The ensemble Safer Six presents children's songs and pop songs for the over fives. 19:00 start.

20:30 Francis International Airport
A young quintet from small town Austria plays indie pop that sounds more redolent of a Brooklyn back street.

22:00 Broken Family Band
The event's party band. This band from Cambridge, which performs songs with partly ironic, partly serious texts that don't shy away from unpleasant issues, is one of the evening's highlights.

Midnight Stefan Obermaier
Stefan Obermaier, a producer and remixer, presents "Beethoven:Reloaded" at Haus der Musik.

Tickets for the "Long Night of Museums" (13 euros regular; 11 euros concessions; 6 euros regional, granting admission to all museums plus cost-free use of the shuttle bus) are on sale from Haus der Musik (box office opening hours 10:00 to 22:00).
