A Best Of the Philharmonic concert: A treat for ears and eyes
35 minutes of optic- and sound experience of another dimension. Starting February 15, the HDTV (High Definition Televison)-version of the Vienna Philharmonic´s New Year´s concert, conducted by Georges Prétre, can be seen at Haus der Musik. Including a special addition by way of a homage to Herbert von Karajan, who would have turned 100 this year.
"It is a difference of 100 zu 1", rejoice Philharmonic CEO Dr. Clemens Hellsberg and Simon K. Posch, CEO of Haus der Musik, who personally arranged the Philharmonic Concert into a cumulative and gripping 35-minute-version.
The ORF recording can be seen every hour on the hour in the Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic at Haus der Musik - in a specially conceived concert hall. One may naturally take the original DVD home - available at the Haus der Musik shop at a price of EUR 24,-.
