NEW YEAR’S CONCERT ON THE BIG SCREEN
Gustavo Dudamel and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra
The 2017 New Year's Concert took place on January 1, 2017, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel in the Vienna Musikverein. Gustavo Dudamel, who was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela in 1981, became the youngest conductor in the 75 year history of the New Year's Concert. The concertwas broadcast in over 90 countries and followed by up to 50 million television viewers around the world. Visitors get to enjoy the very best of the Vienna Philharmonic in exceptional image and sound quality in Haus der Musik’s high end concert hall.
A special ORF production offers 46 minutes of eye and ear candy under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. It can be enjoyed on Haus der Musik’s first floor, where the Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic is located. Additionally Haus der Musik continues to screen the highlights of the Schönbrunn Summer Night’s Concert. The festive atmosphere and high-end equipment of the concert hall allow visitors to experience the best moments of this exceptional cultural event in a unique way. The concerts are screened every full hour between 10h00 and 21h00 daily.
From January onwards, the New Year’s Concert 2017 is available as CD, DVD or Blu-ray at Haus der Musik’s museum shop.
